This was my first ever time making a thumb hole, and I did it! I am so smart. Maybe one of these days I'll make gloves with fingers, since I can kind of see how its done.
The lacy pattern was really simple, just knit one, yarn over knit two together. It did that awesome twisty thing on its own.

they are fantastic! As, clearly, are you. I'm glad that the theater will soon be giving you a well deserved calm... even if it sounds like that calm will be short-lived.
